First time in Agadir? These 15 tips will save you money, time and awkward moments — written by a local agency that has welcomed travelers here for years.
- Currency: Moroccan dirham (MAD). €1 ≈ 10.8 MAD. Exchange at official bureaus, never on the street.
- Bargaining is expected in souks: start at 40–50% of the first price, keep smiling.
- Dress code: Agadir is relaxed — beachwear at the beach, casual clothes in town. Light layers for evenings.
- Tap water: Drink bottled water (available everywhere, ~5 MAD).
- Sun: The Atlantic breeze hides the UV. SPF 50, hat, and hydrate — even in winter.
- Agadir is flat and spread out: hotels line a 10 km bay. Petit taxis are cheap (~10–30 MAD in town) — insist on the meter or agree the price first.
- Airport transfers: official fixed price around 200 MAD; our private transfer is €20 for up to 4 people, booked in advance.
- Tour touts on the beach: politely decline anyone selling 'cheap tours' on the sand. Book licensed agencies with a physical address.
